As the election campaign is getting heated up in Delhi for the Assembly elections, several claims and counter claims are appearing in social media. One such video showing poor roads in a narrow lane claimed that Delhi roads are poorly maintained, with mud and potholes.

Posted by a BJP supporter, it suggested a criticism of Delhi ruling party Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for the poor condition of roads in Delhi ahead of the elections. Translated into English, the claim reads: “This is the reality of the world-class ‘infrastructure’ developed by Kejriwal in Delhi.”
The same video has been shared here and here.
FACT-CHECK
Digiteye India took it up and taking key frames, tried to search on Google Reverse Image Search but no clues to any such road appeared. Then, taking the significant give-away signboard such as Thakur Udaypal Dharamshala in the footage, we searched for the said location and address using Google Maps.
The results showed that the location was in Faridabad in Haryana, not Delhi. Here are the Location coordinates [28°25’08.2″N 77°20’11.3″E] and the 360 degree view on Google Maps showed the 2022 video of the surroundings which match with the location features in the video claiming to be of Delhi roads.
A close comparison of the footage and Google Street View images revealed matching details. The dharmashala board and the building visible on the street in the video and the street where an auto-rickshaw turns are clearly the same as the one in Faridabad.
Hence, the claim is false.
Claim: Video shows Delhi roads full of mud and in poor condition.
Conclusion: Misrepresentation — The road in video is from Faridabad, Haryana under BJP rule and not from Delhi.
Rating: Misrepresentation —
