DigitEye India Fact Checkers
Digiteye India is a part of SoftmediaHub LLP, a limited liability partnership company registered in India in 2014. We have taken up fact-checking in the wake of a mob-lynching incident in a village near Bangalore in which an innocent IT firm employee was killed based on fake WhatsApp rumours. Formally launched in November 2018, Digiteye India remains our sole venture, entirely dedicated to fact-checking.
Organization’s Structure:
The Digiteye India Initiative has a team of six members. Currently, we have three fact checkers, who have been carrying out the task of screening claims or false narratives, fact-checking, and vetting images before submitting them for publication. Every copy is vetted by the team at several stages before publishing it.
Our Editor is the final authority to decide whether a story meets all the requirements as mentioned in our methodology and Code of Principles before publishing them. As a signatory of the IFCN Code of Principles, it’s our sincere endeavour to meet all the requirements and stay away from any bias or favour in our stories, without any interference from outside in editorial matters.

Founder:Nagesh Narayana
A veteran media professional with more than 25 years of experience in print and online media, Narayana is the founder of Digiteye India with extensive working experience. He has inspired many media professionals in his long career and remains our guide and advisor. Email:nn@digiteye.in
Editor: Bharti Jayshankar
Bharti is an editor with more than 20 years of experience in editing. She has worked with many print and online media publications. She has immense experience in the field and trained many budding media professionals during her career. Bharti provides leadership to the team of writers in research and fact-checking. Arun Kumar, Assistant Editor & Coordinator
Arun has been working for Digiteye India since 2019 and has enthusiasm to learn and be handy for the writers and fact-checkers throughout the day. Though an engineering graduate, his interest in technology has brought him to the field of fact checking. Besides contributing, he also takes care of our website upgrades, official responses, and our social media presence,

Currently based in Delhi, Gayathri has been a contributor to several online media publications since 2009 prior to joining the Digiteye India team. An avid observer of developments, she can easily recollect the counter-points whenever a claim goes viral. With an eye for details, she is our best bet for fact-checking claims and online rumours.
