Puneet Superstar refers to Puneet Rajkumar, popular Kannada actor and also known as ‘superstar’ in the industry. The video is purportedly shown to claim that he was being beaten up while alighting from a plane, without giving any reference to the context or time. The video was shared on Dec. 18, 2024 on Twitter by a user Ghar Ke Kalesh @gharkekalesh. It can be accessed here and here.
FACT-CHECK
Digiteye India found the video rather incoherent and took it up for fact-checking. First of all, the person in the video is not Puneet Rajkumar as the Kannada hero died of a heart attack on October 29, 2022, aged 46. It was widely reported and mourned throughout Karnataka, where he had been a popular movie personality. Hence, the claim that Puneet Superstar was beaten with the current date holds no truth.
Secondly, a close scrutiny shows that the person in the video has no resemblance with Puneet Rajkumar either. Hence, the claim in the video is false.
Claim: Puneet Superstar got Beaten up by a Random guy while deporting from Plane.
Conclusion: Misrepresentation. Puneet Rajkumar (Kannada superstar) died on Oct 29, 2022 and the person in video is not him.
