FACT-CHECK

Owing to the buzz around the claim, we took it up for fact-checking and found that it was not true. A search on Twitter for the original post resulted in the post that countered the information as false. It was shared by former Gaya MP and Bharatiya Janata Party member Hari Manjhi on X, dated 13 November 2024, clarifying that Anjali Birla married Aneesh Rajani, a Sindhi Hindu, on 12 November 2024.

The wedding card can be seen here:

“Some Jihadis and anti-BJP people are spreading rumours that Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla ji’s daughter Anjali is married to a Muslim. The truth is that Anish Rajani is a Sindhi Hindu, from a reputed business family of Kota and his family has built more than 12 Shivalayas. Don’t believe rumours, know the truth. Shame on you Jihadis,” reads the translated version of the tweet posted by Manjhi.

A simple search Google revealed that the bridegroom’s name is Aneesh Rajani and he is from a Sindhi business family. He belongs to Hindu community and available information shows that the Rajanis are Kshatriyas. Aneesh Rajani is one of the directors of RAJANI PRODUCTS PRIVATE LIMITED, located in Kota. More data can be accessed here about him and his firm.

Hence, the claim that Speaker Om Birla’s daughter Anjali married a Muslim man is false.

Claim: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla’s daughter, Anjali Birla, married a Muslim named Mohammad Anis.

Conclusion: Anjali Birla, daughter of Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, married Aneesh Rajani a Sindhi Hindu, not a Muslim.
