Did ABP poll survey Predict BJP Victory in Delhi Elections 2025? Fact-Check

Several social media posts claimed that an ABP News opinion poll predicts a massive win for the BJP in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections.

Posted in Hindi, the claim reads: “ताजा आंकड़ों के आधार पर @BJP4Delhi 41-46, Aapदा 17-22, Congress 1-2 लेकर आ सकती हैं। AAPदा के दिग्गजों की हार का मार्जिन ऐसे रहेगा।
@ArvindKejriwal  8000-12000
@msisodia  10000 से 13000
@AtishiAAP  8000 से 11000

Translated, the claim reads in English: “Based on the latest figures, @BJP4Delhi can get 41-46, AAP 17-22, Congress 1-2. The margin of defeat of AAP stalwarts will be like this. @ArvindKejriwal  8000-12000, @msisodia  10000 to 13000, @AtishiAAP  8000 to 11000.”

The accompanying video shows 47 seats for BJP, 17 for AAP, and 6 for Congress, while the text claims 41-46 for BJP, 17-22 for AAP, and 1-2 for Congress, clarly contradicting the claims in video and the text. Similar claims can be seen here and here. In fact, similar fake opinion polls attributed to ABP News had gone viral in December 2024 as well.

FACT-CHECK

As these claims are often seen ahead of any elections, Digiteye India checked for the original poll survey on ABP News portal, which yielded no results. When searched Google for ABP’s  “Opinion Poll” and “Delhi elections”, no such report on ABP News’ website or its YouTube channel appeared in results.

Then, we searched for the official X handle of ABP News and found that ABP News itself has debunked the claim. A report from the outlet stated clearly that no such opinion poll has been conducted.

Dated February 2, 2025, ABP News posted in Hindi on X as a Fake News Alert that stated: “No such opinion poll has been conducted by ABP News.” Hence, the claim is false.

Claim: Based on the latest ABP poll survey, BJP can get 41-46, AAP 17-22, Congress 1-2.
Conclusion: Misrepresentation. The ABP News denied it conducted any survey or poll prediction on BJP victory in the 2025 Delhi elections.

Rating: Misrepresentation —
