FACT CHECK:

DigitEye India decided to fact check this claim where Modi photo/video along with Arun Govil’s video is posted. Only that part of the video is posted where it appears as if he is speaking about Modi as his photo/video is included in the claim to mislead viewers.

When DigitEye India  team conducted a keyword search on “Arun Govil Monsoon session’ and ‘Arun Govil criticizing PM Modi’, we landed on the result showing the original interview conducted on 23rd July 2025 after the opposition members (INDIA bloc) protested against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voters’ list in Bihar.

The protest was confirmed by various media outlets. The Hindu has filed a report on protests here. The opposition parties included those of the TMC, Samajwadi Party, Congress, DMK, Shiv Sena, and others. Find an image of the opposition MPs protesting below:

When media asked BJP MP Arun Govil about this, he replied to the media that he does not understand what answer do opposition give to the people who elected and sent them here. “Do they come here to do this? It is a shameful act. Running a parliament costs a lot of money and they are not aware of that,” he added.
