FACT-CHECK
Following a request on our WhatApp tipline, Digiteye India team checked for the authentication of the news as it involves Government of India. Usually PIB is the first source and we found no such press release by PIB. Next, we switched over to searching for other social media links pertaining to the announcement by the government but found no authentic source.
After scrutinising the original post by an influencer with tagline ‘Labour Law Advisor’ posted it on X on April 1, 2025, we came across a watermark reading “Happy April Fools Day” seen at the top right corner of the screen at the 0:32-second timestamp. The video also shows a document describing the scheme, where it can be seen that the writing “Posted on April Fools Day by LLA,” making it clear that the video was intended to be an April Fools’ prank.
Hence the claim made in the post is FALSE.
Claim: The Government of India has launched a scheme named ‘PM Kardata Kalyan Yojana’ to reward taxpayers.
Conclusion: The Government of India has not launched any scheme named ‘PM Kardata Kalyan Yojana’ to reward taxpayers and the video was an April Fool’s prank.
