Digiteye India took it up for fact-checking. Taking key frames and checking them on Google Reverse Image Search gave out the results that it was an old video that posted by Srinivas BV, the National President of Indian Youth Congress, on August 4, 2023.
The post was shared following the Supreme Court’s stay on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s conviction in the 2019 “Modi surname” remark defamation case on August 4, 2023. When celebrations erupted at the Congress party’s headquarters, Srinivas shared the above video with a caption that said, “Welcome back, Leader.” Even the Indian National Congress shared the viral footage here.
