FACT CHECK
DigitEYE decided to investigate this claim and found it to be false. There is no reliable evidence that Donald Trump made that statement, and no credible sources support it. The actual context of the video relates to a U.S. military operation carried out in January 2026 against Venezuela.
We first conducted a reverse image search from various keyframes of the video in the claim to learn more. The search took the full Youtube video uploaded by The White House on 28 March, 2026, titled : “President Trump Delivers Remarks at the Future Investment Initiative” The full footage is about 1 hour 18 minutes long and the description states that the event was in Miami, Florida.
At the 20:47 timestamp, we located the section of the footage that had been shared in the claim up to 21:27. The full transcript of this particular section is : “We knew there was a problem when we noticed, at 1:00 in the morning, every 32 seconds another airplane, a very fast plane, was coming off the deck of an aircraft carrier. That’s actually the biggest aircraft carrier in the world. And every 32 seconds… boom, boom, boom. It was 1:00 in the morning. So we said, ‘Okay, I think we’re in trouble.’ But they were ready for us, Johnny and we were ready. He said we were ready. And then they hit us. They came from 17 different angles. They were here, they were there… We ran for our lives. It was over.”
It is clear from the above transcript that Trump is discussing the U.S. raid on Venezuela that captured President Nicolás Maduro. He describes U.S. planes launching every 32 seconds from the deck of “the biggest aircraft carrier in the world”, most probably referencing the USS Gerald R. Ford. The “we” and “they” refer to Venezuelan defenders experiencing the U.S. assault, not U.S. forces fleeing Iran.

Next, we conducted a web search with the phrase “USS Gerald R.Ford Venezuela attack” to learn more. According to a BBC report, “the USS Gerald R Ford, an aircraft carrier, which was seen about 280 miles (450km) north of the Venezuelan coast on 15 December.” Experts noted that “the level of forces… not tailored for pure drug interdiction” raised concerns that the deployment of the USS Gerald R. Ford signaled potential preparation for broader military action against Venezuela. View a section from the report below –

Another report by NBC news after the US captured Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro and his wife sheds light on the role of USS Gerald R.Ford. The report mentions how it played a pressure role, having “swept into the Caribbean… part of a military buildup” that coincided with months of planning and escalating operations against Venezuela. As one of “a lot of ships out there,” its presence formed the backbone of the naval armada positioned off the coast. View a section from the report below –

Following this, searches for Iranian attacks on USS Gerald R.Ford did not yield any credible reports.
Furthermore, the claim adds “Iran” which Trump did not mention in his speech, rather he was speaking about Venezuela and biggest aircraft carrier in the world(USS Gerald R.Ford).
Thus, the claim is false.
