Rating: Misrepresentation —
Amid several snidy comments made by U.S. President Donald Trump on India, a viral screenshot has been shared by several verified users on X and other channels, featuring a rant by Trump on Truth Social.
On 30th July, 2025, President Trump announced that he would impose 25% tariffs on India and an additional “penalty” for buying Russian Oil. A day before, he made a remark about the Indo-Russian trade, calling both of them “dead” economies. In this context, another post purportedly by Trump was shared by many users as shown below (Archive):
The post claims that Prime Minister Modi has not responded to Trump’s tweets, statements, or tariff concerns despite the U.S. support for India, including brokering a ceasefire with Pakistan. It further suggests that this perceived disrespect harms U.S.-India business and friendship, and ended the post with hashtag #AmericaFirst.

FACT CHECK
DigitEYE India evaluated the authenticity of the shared screenshot and found that the claim is fabricated and no such post was made by President Trump.
We first searched Trump’s official X account and his Truth Social account where the post was purportedly uploaded. There was no such post shared and no matching posts were found on Trump’s X or Truth Social accounts.
Secondly, we noticed a watermark on many of the posts that were shared by the users. The “WOKEFLIX” watermark indicating that the image was created or modified by @wokeflix_, a user flagged for spreading satirical or misleading content.
Another issue is the consistency of the replies and time posted in the original tweet which stands at 204 replies and 24 minutes respectively. This has not changed in any of the screenshot, indicating that only one screenshot was shared by several users.
Thus, the screenshot is fabricated and no such posts exist. Neither the Indian Government nor the United States has released any statement on this matter. The watermark clearly indicates that this was created for satire. Hence, a false claim.
