FACT CHECK
Taking few key frames of the video, Digiteye India team searched on Google Reverse Image Search to get results which pointed out that the video was three years old and refers to a different context. It was posted by Netanyahu himself on his official X (formerly Twitter) account in Hebrew on December 14, 2021 as seen below:
אני תמיד גאה לרוץ בשבילכם. 🇮🇱💪🏻
צולם לפני חצי שעה בכנסת pic.twitter.com/Tk386NOKU5
— Benjamin Netanyahu – בנימין נתניהו (@netanyahu) December 13, 2021
Translated into English, Netanyahu wrote:”I am always proud to run for you. It was taken half an hour ago in the Knesset.” This confirms the video was captured while Netanyahu was in the Knesset, Israel’s parliament, running to attend a session as head of the opposition at the time. Some Hebrew news reports from December 2021 also indicate that he was rushing to arrive in time for a vote in the Knesset Plenum. Hence, the claim that he was fleeing from Iran’s missile attack is false.
