Sharing the video on X, a user wrote, “Pakistan tried to hit the capital of India, New Delhi by it’s long range missile Fateh-2 But intercepted by Barak-8 missile defence system in Sirsa of Haryana. Porkis has crossed all the limit.”
Soon after, the video started going viral on social media and can be seen here and here.
FACT CHECK
Since the video started making the rounds after India and Pakistan halted the firing, the video raised several eyebrows. When Digiteye India, upon a request on its WhatsApp tipline, checked for the original footage, taking a few keyframes. But the results showed otherwise.
The video uploaded on X by geo17 claimed that it was Qatar which had fired missiles at a UFO.

Translated, it reads: “Be Attentive: December 29, 2024 Qatari army fires missiles at UFO, which dodges them at impressive speed Prepare for what’s coming It will be BIBLICAL.” However, this claim was debunked by the Arab fact-checking unit Misbar, stating that it was originally linked to the Yemen-Israel conflict. We could locate the related X.com tweet by RT with the same video here:
New footage appears to show FAILED INTERCEPTION of Houthi missile over Tel Aviv

Taking a cue from this report, we checked for the original story and found that the same was reported by the Times of Israel stating that it shows an attack on the Israeli city of Tel Aviv by Yemen’s Houthi rebels at around 3:50 p.m. on December 21, 2024.
The news confirms that a missile was launched by Yemen’s Houthis struck a public park in the Jaffa area of Tel Aviv around midnight on Friday–Saturday (December 21). At least 16 people were injured in the incident. The reports said that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the failure of their missile interception attempts.
Using the same video, new claims surfaced on social media that it was Pakistani missile Fateh-2 being destroyed by the Indian Army in Sirsa, Haryana. Hence, the claim is false.
Claim: A viral video shows Pakistani missile Fateh-2 being destroyed by the Indian Army in Sirsa, Haryana.
Conclusion: Misrepresentation. An old video of Yemen-Israel conflict from Dec 2024 was used to claim that it was Pakistan’s Fateh-2 ballistic missile intercepted in Sirsa.
Rating: Misrepresentation —
