FACT CHECK

DigitEYE India investigated the claim and found the claim to be misleading. The video dates back to September 2025 and resurfaced in December 2025 when IndiGo flights all over the country faced massive delays. Multiple reports and earlier instances of the video being shared in September 2025 confirm its original timeline.

Details:

We first conducted a reverse image search of various keyframes from the video to learn more about it. The search took us to an Instagram reel from ‘heraldo_goa’ which dates back to 30 September, 2025. The caption notes how after “a five-hour delay of a flight from Goa to Surat, passengers and airline staff at Goa airport turned the wait into a festive celebration by performing Garba together.” View the post below:

We found other videos too of this same incident posted on 30th September, 2025 by ‘Lokmat Times’ and ‘India Times’ that can be viewed here and here respectively.

Following this, we conducted a web search with the phrase “Goa flight delay Surat 30 September 2025 garba” for more information. According to a report by India TV published on 30th September, 2025, a “long flight delay at Goa Airport turned into an unexpected celebration when a group of passengers from Surat broke into an impromptu Garba session”. The report further states how the flight scheduled at 5 pm “was delayed by nearly five hours.” View a section from the report below:

Another report published by NDTV on 30th September, 2025 has also confirmed this. The report contains the viral clip with the title : “Viral Video: Garba At Goa Airport: IndiGo Staff Join In As Fliers Make The Most Of Flight Delay”. The report also observes how “a Goa to Surat flight arrived five hours late” and the passengers enjoyed Garba.

Thus, the claim is misleading.
