FACT CHECK
DigitEYE India decided to fact check this claim and discovered that the notice is fake. The claim is completely false and there has been no such announcement by any official authority pertaining to Jammu and Kashmir.
Firstly, we noticed numerous spelling errors in the notice, like that of “Raj Att, 1939”, ‘Eec-tion”, “Pacilitate” in point 3, “annou-ncoment”, “copperation”. These spelling mistakes are in the notice and it is highly unlikely that any official announcement by the Government of J&K would have such errors.
We then searched for confirmations/ announcements on the Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department of Jammu & Kashmir official website. The last circular/order was published on 31st July 2025 and there has been no notice on 5 August 2025 as the fake circular claims. View the image below –
Another red flag in the notice was the omission of a name under the designation “Secretary to the Government.” All previous government notices and official documents consistently include the name of the official holding this position, making such an omission highly irregular.
On conducting further keyword searches about the notice, we came across an X post made by the Chief Minister of J&K. The post denounces the credibility of the notice, labelling it as a “fake news alert.” Find the post here.

The official X handle of the Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj of J&K also reposted the Chief Minister’s post. They have also clarified that the notice is fake and no official notification has been issued regarding the Panchayat Elections in J&K. Find the post here.
🚫Fake Order🚫
No official notification has been issued regarding Panchayat Elections in J&K. A forged order circulating on social media is FAKE. Only State Election Commission can notify election dates.

Thus, the notice is completely false and has been created to spread fake news. There has been no official declaration concerning the Panchayat Elections in Jammu and Kashmir after November 2025.
