FACT CHECK

DigitEYE India decided to investigate this claim and found that it is false. Maruti Suzuki has not announced nor launched any such mini bus in India. The claim appears to be based on unverified reports and AI-generated images, with no official confirmation from auto major or any credible evidence to support it.

We first checked for any official announcement or listing on Maruti Suzuki’s website about such a mini bus. The van section lists the Eeco with a starting ex-showroom price of ₹5.21 Lakh and a Mini Bus invariably costs more than that. And, there is no information about any minibus on Maruti Suzuki’s official website or from any of their announcements. View a glimpse of the search results below:

Following this, we conducted a web search with the phrase “Maruti Suzuki Mini Bus launched in India at ₹4.99 Lakh” to learn more. Major outlets like Autocar India, CarWale, CarDekho have not reported about such a vehicle. However, there were various unverified reports like Fly Sikkim Adventure that repeated the ₹4.99 Lakh claim without any evidence.

Other websites like Starmallkolkata, cmv360 and Asjr have also published such articles without any evidence. All of these websites have used different images, thus contradicting themselves and shedding no official information. Such unverified articles and reports appear to be clearly AI generated or repurposed rumor content. View screenshots from various sections of these articles below:

Lastly, we tested these images from the claim and articles through an AI detector to check the authenticity of them. All of them turned out to be AI generated, proving that no such mini bus exists in the first place. View all the results below –

Thus, the claim is false.
