Rating : Totally False — Five rating

Several social media users have claimed that the Dev Bhumi Uttarakhand University (DBUU) is awarding 50 marks to students who attend PM Narendra Modi’s rally on November 9, 2025 at their campus. Verified X user ‘pbhushan1’ made such a claim and shared an image of an alleged official notice from Dev Bhoomi Uttarakhand University (DBUU) in Dehradun.

The notice purportedly informed B.Tech CSE (2nd year) specialization, and BCA (2nd year) students that they must attend an event on November 9, 2025, at the Forest Research Institute (FRI) in Dehradun, featuring an “interaction” with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and 50 internal marks will be awarded to each participant of this event.

FACT CHECK

DigitEYE India decided to investigate this claim and found it false. The notice shared in the claim is fabricated and fake. DBUU has explicitly denied issuing it and there was no student interaction when PM Modi visited the university on November 9, 2025.

We first reviewed Dev Bhumi Uttarakhand University official website and notices section to check for this circular. There were no announcements about a PM interaction, mandatory attendance, or marks for external events. View a screenshot of the notices section on the website below –

Upon searching for any official response, we found that DBUU’s administration issued a statement confirming the notice was not authentic. They issued a clarification letter to the Uttarakhand Department of Higher Education and also posted the same on  their X account as seen below.

In the letter they mention: “It has come to our attention that a fake notice has been circulated in the name of DBUU regarding marks for the upcoming visit to FRI on 09 November 2025″ which can be seen below –

Lastly, when we searched for any “mandatory” student interaction with PM Modi, there were no such reports. He did visit Dehradun on November 9, 2025 for Uttarakhand’s 25th state formation day celebrations, inaugurating projects worth over ₹8,260 crore. PM Modi’s November 9 schedule, as per an official PMO release, included addressing the Silver Jubilee at FRI, unveiling infrastructure projects in water, energy and sports sectors, and cultural programs.

Thus, the claim is false.
