DigitEYE India decided to investigate this claim and found that it is false. The post distorts Jeffrey Epstein’s boast into a fabricated mega scandal, trying to suggest that Hardeep Singh Puri was involved in the sex scandal. There is no evidence that Puri had indulged in those affairs, his name is only mentioned among other diplomats.
We first began by confirming the authenticity of the released documents as shown in the claim. The email chain, dated September 19, 2014, between Epstein as “Jeffrey E.” from jeevacation@gmail.com and Kathryn Ruemmler (former Obama White House Counsel), was unsealed as part of Epstein’s federal records by the House Oversight Democrats. It spans 16 pages, with the provided screenshot as page 13 which can be viewed here.
After confirming this, we dived into the context of the email as seen in the claim and documents. Epstein emails Ruemmler, bragging about his overloaded UNGA-week schedule in New York to underscore his influence. He lists “renewing old habits” with figures like Larry Summers, Bill Burns, Gordon Brown, Jagland (Nobel chair), Mongolia’s president, “hardeep purree (india),” Boris (Gates reference), Jabor (Qatar), Sultan (Dubai), and others, framing himself as a networking hub. There has been no mention of any crimes or sex trafficking which involves Puri.
Spelled “hardeep purree (india)” (a misspelling of Hardeep Singh Puri), he appears in a comma-separated list of global dignitaries Epstein claims to be meeting. In an article published by The Hindu, they write how in 2014, Puri served as India’s Special Envoy for Climate Change and Trade, attending UNGA and climate summits in New York aligning with Epstein’s “everyone here for climate summit” note.
