FACT CHECK
DigitEYE India decided to investigate this claim and found that it is false. There has been no official announcement from the White House on this. While the US Treasurer Brandon Beach confirmed on X that this is a draft, no such production has taken place.
We first searched the White House website’s briefings and statements, as well as President Trump’s Truth Social posts. There were no such announcements pertaining to this nor any reports published.
Following this, we came across a report published by Politico on October 3, 2025 that reported the statements of U.S. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt. In an October 3 press conference at the White House when asked about this she said, ““I’m not sure if he’s seen it but I’m sure he’ll love it,” View a section of the report below –

Upon searching further, we stumbled on an X post made by US Treasurer Brandon Beach on October 3, 2025. The post gained over 3.1 million views and was a response to a post of the coin : “No fake news here. These first drafts honoring America’s 250th Birthday and @POTUS are real. Looking forward to sharing more soon, once the obstructionist shutdown of the United States government is over.” View the post here:

However, this news was only the confirmation of a draft, not the production of the coin. According to a report by the CNN, the 2020 Circulating Collectible Coin Redesign Act bans “head and shoulders portrait or bust” of living individuals on reverse of specified coins. The report also stated that “No coin issued under this subsection may bear the image of a living former or current President, or of any deceased former President..” as per the US code governing design.

The images of the coins circulated were only drafts as confirmed by the US Treasurer Brandon Beach. The law does not permit this and the White House or the President’s Truth Social handle does not contain any such announcement of production of coins.
Thus, the claim is false.
