A video of a car accident is going viral on social media, with claims that Indian cricketer Virat Kohli passed away in a car accident on February 19, 2025. Here’s the Instagram post that is being shared widely.

Last year, Virat Kohli’s bruised face in a post had triggered similar fears and attracted huge news coverage. However, the latest one has triggered wider fears in the country as the cricketer is playing in the Champions Trophy match between India and Bangladesh at Dubai.

When Digiteye India team looked for the news related to the claim, Google News Search did not give any results. Next a search on Virat Kohli’s social media accounts too yielded no such results. Had it been true, by now news outlets would have made it headlines. Hence, the claim turned out to be totally false.
