Another video is being circulated here with a caption in Hindi that says: “Hindus, open your eyes. Rahul Gandhi was not in the House since morning but came at 10 p.m. to vote against the Waqf Bill to illegally occupy your property.”

However, this claim is false and misleading. When Digiteye India team checked, Rahul Gandhi entered parliament building two hours before the voting took place on April 2, 2025.
The video posted by news agency IANS at 10:16 p.m. shows Rahul Gandhi entering Parliament, showing that the Opposition Leader at least two hours before the vote, that took place around 12:43 a.m. on April 3, past midnight.

The Waqf (Amendment) Bill was debated in the Lok Sabha on April 2, 2025, starting in the morning and continued for more than 12 hours, and voting took place around 12:43 a.m. on April 3, after midnight.
Next, we checked Sansad TV’s live broadcast of the debate, where Rahul Gandhi was clearly seen seated in the House during speeches made by other Opposition leaders.
Another video by news agency ANI posted at 2:24 a.m. on April 3 shows Rahul Gandhi leaving Parliament, hours after the bill was passed, which authenticates the fact that he was present during the entire debate.

This proves that Rahul Gandhi was present during the debate, not absent as claimed in viral posts.
