Wrong video shared to deny demise rumours of King Charles; Fact Check

Following the concerns over King Charles’s health amid the detection of cancer in January, several claims have surfaced on social media here and here. Even the hashtag #RoyalAnnouncement is trending on Twitter amid rumours that an “imminent announcement” is coming from the Royalty and that the BBC has been kept on alert.

Amid these claims, one video appeared claiming that King Charles III appeared normal in his public function on March 18, 2024.

FACT CHECK

The Digiteye India team checked for the veracity of the video footage in the message and found the original video on YouTube that was uploaded six months ago when King Charles was received on Balmoral Castle. The footage was uploaded on YouTube by the Royal Family Channel six months ago as seen below:

While the royal demise is a matter of protocol and there is no need for the Royalty to release a wrong footage as shown. Hence, the video attached to the claim is wrong.
