A viral clip is being circulated on social media especially on Youtube which appears to show a road in Delhi that is overwhelmingly flooded. As a result, vehicles are drowning and passengers are on the verge of falling over too. The youtube channel with 1.7 million subscribers that shared this clip on June 24, 2025 gained 44,226,671 views and more than 286,000 likes for this short video.

The hindi text layered over the Youtube short reads: “पथर दि ल वाला ह होगा जो इस वीडि यो को लाइक शये र नहंकरेगा ” and “दि ल मरोड पर अचानक आया पानी ”
In English it reads: “Only someone with a stone heart won’t like and share this video” and “Sudden water surge on road in Delhi.”
The same video has been going viral mentioning a different city, Haridwar, as seen below:
FACT CHECK
DigitEYE India, after seeing the dramatic footage decided to fact check the claim. The team discovered that this video was AI generated and no other major news outlet had reported or shared this kind of news. Upon reverse image searching the key frames, none of the footage matches from any real flood event from Delhi.
Secondly, we checked the authenticity of the channel who shared the clip and did not elaborate on this matter and the source. The person using the green screen only urged other people to share the youtube short, disregarding the credibility of it.
In the beginning of the clip, a scooter is seamlessly “floating” in the water, without toppling over or falling down. Considering the strong surge of water, any two wheeler should have fallen due to that pressure but here the scooter does not.
Another detail that reveals that this video is AI is that every person is driving the same kind of scooter. Their tyres are very disproportionate and odd too, more like that of a bicycle than a motor vehicle. Moreover, the cars and scooters in the video are literally spinning in circles but the riders seem to remain untouched and stable.
However, the biggest detail among all which reveals this clip is AI is of the SUV magically drowning in front of the scooter, while other vehicles seamlessly pass through. 2-3 seconds later, another SUV goes in the same path and does not drown and easily passes through.
The number plate and brand logo in all of the vehicles is missing, revealing another flaw. This is not the only case, many other Youtube channels have shared this fake video without mentioning any context. Here is another channel that urges viewers to like and share but mentions nothing of the source.

Here is another case of a channel using this fake clip and spreading fake news .
When checked in AI tool, it turns that the significant part of the image is AI generated.
Thus, the claim is totally false and the video is AI generated. In a real flood situation, people would be honking, panicking and running for their lives or helping each other. However, in this fake video, people appear calm and do not react after a whole SUV drowns in front of them!
