Details:
We first began by performing a reverse image search on various keyframes in the video to learn about the claim. Our search took us to a report published by The News Minute on October 28, 2025, titled : “Udhayanidhi Stalin reviews Chennai’s preparations as Cyclone Montha nears Andhra Pradesh coast.”
The report mentions how “Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin conducted an inspection at the Greater Chennai Corporation’s (GCC) Command and Control Centre at Ripon Buildings on Tuesday to assess the city’s readiness.” View a screenshot of this below –

Other news reports have also confirmed this which can be seen here and here. Moreover, Deputy Stalin himself took to X on 28 October, 2025 and posted about this. Translated from Tamil to English, his post states how his team “conducted a brief inspection a little while ago at the Integrated Command and Service Centre established at the head office of the Greater Chennai Corporation.” View the post here:

In the X post made by him above, the computer is clearly switched on. Upon reviewing the video in the claim, we found that his movement of the hands over the keyword were not natural. Moreover, there was a floating camera nearly blending into a person’s face out of nowhere. View the screenshot below –

Next we put that video into Hive Moderation AI’s content detector to verify. The results turned out to be 95% AI and that the video was likely generated using AI. View the results below –

The Tamil Nadu Fact Check Unit, an arm of the state government, explicitly labeled the video as “AI-generated” in a December 2, 2025, post quoting the viral clip. Their 24-second explanatory video overlays “FAKE” stamps and highlights artificial elements, urging verification before sharing. View the post here:
