Several social media users have shared a video and claimed that Donald Trump’s body double was spotted behind him. Verified X user ‘bayramzilan’ shared such a post with the caption : “I think the person caught on camera is Donald Trump’s stunt double” Attached to the post is a 9 second video with a red circle highlighting a man in a dark suit walking in the background. In the video, Trump can be heard talking about an “incredible” FIFA event. View the post below –

DigitEYE India decided to investigate this claim and found it to be false. The individual shown in the video is Viktor Knavs, Melania Trump’s father and Donald Trump’s father-in-law, not a body double for the US president. There is no indication that he works as a professional stand-in.
We first conducted a web search on various keyframes of the footage to learn more about it. The search took us to the full length video uploaded by DRM News on 20 July, 2026, titled : “WATCH: Trump Speaks After FIFA World Cup Final, Praises Spain and Issues Fresh Iran Warning | AC15” The description notes how “President Donald Trump returned to Washington after attending the historic 2026 FIFA World Cup Final between Spain and Argentina.”
The moment shown in the claim appears at 1:14 timestamp in the video when that person is seen walking in the background. The man turns at 1:23 and we get a clear look at his face, noting how the person is Donald’s trump father in law, Viktor Knavs.
To confirm this, we conducted a web search for the traveller list on Air Force 1 which landed at Joint Base Andrews. According to a document by The American Presidency Project, on 19 July, 2026, the plane touched down and we found Knavs’ name among the AF1 travellers.
Using this, we searched for more information about Knavs attending the FIFA World Cup final with Donald Trump. On 20 July 2026, Melania Trump from her official ‘firstladyoffice’ account posted a picture of her father, Knavs and FIFA President Gianni Infantino. The post is captioned “FIFA World Cup Final | July 19, 2026” and can be seen below –
Knavs appears in the photograph wearing the same navy/dark suit and light blue tie visible in the viral clip. Another report by Channels published back on July 19, 2026 also confirmed that “Melania Trump, who is Barron’s mother, and Melania’s father Viktor Knavs are both due to attend with the US president.” Knavs made his attendance and this viral clip is inaccurately being portrayed as a body double.
Thus, the claim is false.
