FACT CHECK

DigitEYE India decided to investigate this claim and found that it is totally false. The videos are generated using AI and have several inconsistencies in it. Moreover, no such incidents occurred and credible news outlets have not covered it.

Detials:

We first conducted a reverse image search on various keyframes from the video to learn about its origin. The search yielded no results with any match highlights or official footage from cricket organizations. Moreover, there were no reports from credible media outlets covering such a fight or brawl between the players.

Following this, we checked some of the videos and found several inconsistencies. For instance, in this footage, the brawl begins when the umpire pushes the player from behind. Furthermore, the players do not have their name on the official jersey. At 0:07 timestamp, the players look absolutely confused and point in a random direction. View the video and two screenshots below –

Following this, we analyzed another video shared by the user and found other differences. Firstly, the woman wearing the jersey with ‘124’ on it, which goes against ICC rules. According to ICC rules– “a cricketer is allowed to choose his preferred jersey number before making his India debut and  they are allowed to pick any number between 1 to 99” based on preference, luck, or personal significance (e.g., birthdays). View a screenshot of the number below –

Also many videos shared here has the video caption starting with “U19…….” which depicts fights in all Under 19 category, which is highly unlikely.

Lastly, we used Hive Moderation’s AI detector and checked the authenticity of the video. The results proved that the video is generated using AI and likely to be “99% AI Generated. View the results of both the videos below –

Thus, the videos are fake and generated using AI.
