DigitEYE India decided to investigate this claim and found it to be false. As of April 2026, there is no reliable evidence indicating that a divorce has been filed. While the couple has been living apart since 2016, they have not taken any legal steps to formally end their marriage.
We first conducted a web search with the phrase “Will Smith and Jada Pinkett divorce” to learn more. According to a Guardian report, the couple has been “living separate lives since 2016” and they “have no plans to legally divorce.” The report further said how Jada Pinkett “made a promise that there will never be a reason for us to get a divorce…We will work through whatever.” View a section from the report below –
Following this, we learnt from a People report that “On an episode of On Purpose with Jay Shetty in 2023, Jada revealed” details about the several breakups the couple had. She stated that “there have been several breakups between Will and I” over the span of their married life. The report further mentions that “In December 2024, a source told PEOPLE that Will and Jada spent Thanksgiving together in a large gathering of family and friends.”
In January 2026, the couple reunited publicly at Paris Fashion Week to support their son Jaden.
