A video showing body parts in a suitcase has been shared on social media with a claim that the accused is a Muslim named Akram who killed a Hindu girl in West Bengal after promising to marry her.

The claim reads: “आज फिर एक अब्दुल ने अपना #टारगेट सम्पन्न किया.. मेरा अब्दुल ऐसा नहीं है कहने वालियों देखो इसका भी #अब्दुल ऐसा नहीं था.. पर वो आज #सूटकेश में मिली है। बंगाल में #अकरम ने शादी का झांसा देकर हिंदू लड़की को उतारा #मौत के घाट.”
Translated, it reads: “Today again an Abdul completed his #टारगेट . Those who say my Abdul is not like this, look, his #अब्दुल (Abdul) was also not like this. But today I have found him in suitcase.” It suggested that in West Bengal, a man by name Akram lured a Hindu girl into marriage, killed and threw her dead at the river bank.

FACT-CHECK
When Digiteye India received a request, the team took key frames of the clipping and ran a Google reverse image search to look for the original video. The results showed a YouTube video report on the incident as seen below.
As per the report, two women, Falguni Ghosh and Arati Ghosh, were arrested in Kolkata while attempting to dispose off a trolley bag into the river Ganga containing the dead body of a woman.
Another news report on February 25, 2025, revealed that the two women were spotted with a trolley bag at Kumartoli Ghat in North Kolkata. The deceased was identified as 55-year-old Sumita Ghosh. The accused, Falguni Ghosh, was involved in the crime along with her mother, Arati Ghosh. Currently, Madhyamgram Police Station in Barasat district are probing the case, reports said.
Hence, there is no communal angle in the case as claimed.
