A video allegedly from Kaun Banega Crorepati is going viral on social media. The video shows Amitabh Bachchan asking a political question to the contestant for Rs20,000. The question says,
[Translation: Which of the following Chief Ministers is called an announcement machine because of his false announcements?]इनमें से किस मुख्यमंत्री को उनकी झूठी घोषना के करण घोषना मशीन कहा जाता है?
The options that the contestant receives are Manohar Lal Khatter, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Yogi Adityanath, and Bhupendra Patel. The contestant answers Shivraj Singh Chouhan and wins the amount. This video has been making waves on social media.

Digiteye India received a request on WhatsApp to fact check this viral video.
FACT CHECK
The Digiteye India team watched the video closely to look for any details that would reveal if the video was doctored. At the 0:39 mark, the frame moves to Amitabh Bachchan. The lip movement is not consistent with what he is speaking.
We conducted a keyword search and a reverse image search to look for the original video. One of the results led us to this video uploaded by KBC India on YouTube. The video showed the same contestant as in the viral video, Bhupendra Chaudhary. At the 19:03 mark, the contestant is asked the sixth question for Rs20,000. The question asks, “Which of these movies is not about a sportsperson?” The options are Saina, Piku, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, and Shabaash Mithu.
When we compared this video with the viral video, we noticed that the clothes worn by the contestant, his parents, and Amitabh Bachchan are the same. The video is from Season 14 of Kaun Banega Crorepati which was airing in January 2023.
We further conducted keyword searches on social media and found this video by Bhupendra where he clarifies the video. He mentions that the video is false and he adds what the original question was.

Additionally, Sony TV also issued a statement. They said, “We have been alerted to the circulation of an unauthorised video from our show, ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’. This video misleadingly overlays a fabricated voice-over of our host and presents distorted content. Upholding the show’s integrity and our viewers’ trust is paramount, and we are actively addressing this matter with the cybercrime cell. We strongly condemn such misinformation, urge our audience to be vigilant, and refrain from sharing unverified content.”

The video is doctored.
CLAIM: A viral video shows Amitabh Bachchan asking a political question taunting Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, on Kaun Banega Crorepati.
CONCLUSION: The audio in the video is doctored. Amitabh Bachchan did not ask this question. The question that was asked for Rs20,000 asked to pick out the Bollywood movie that was not based on a sportsperson. The contestant and Sony TV have called the video false.
