Claim: Taylor Swift gifted Cartier watches to 1201 people who attended her wedding.
Conclusion: The claim is false. Reports indicate that Cartier watches were among several raffle prizes, alongside luxury designer handbags and a vintage 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle, rather than gifts given to every guest. Guests reportedly earned raffle tickets by participating in games during the reception, meaning only the winners received the prizes, not all attendees.

FACT CHECK
DigitEYE India decided to investigate this claim and found it to be false. Available reports state that Cartier watches were offered as raffle prizes, along with luxury designer handbags and a vintage 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle rather than being distributed to every guest. Attendees reportedly took part in games to earn raffle tickets, and only those who won the raffle received the prizes.
Details:
We first conducted a web search to learn how many guests actually attended the wedding. According to a report by Sky Sports, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce got married in a star-studded ceremony at Madison Square Garden, officiated by Adam Sandler and attended by around 1,000 guests. The report states that the ceremony was confirmed by Swift’s publicist, with celebrities including Ed Sheeran, Jennifer Lawrence, Justin Thomas, Hugh Grant and Jason Sudeikis in attendance.

Another report by People also states that the superstar couple “tied the knot on Friday, July 3, with a star-studded celebration at Madison Square Garden featuring about 1,000 guests.” Therefore, the claim that 1,201 guests attended the wedding is inaccurate as available reports estimate the attendance at around 1,000 guests rather than 1,201.
Next, we searched whether every guest who attended the wedding got a Cartier watch or not. According to a report by TMZ, the guests were invited to play games throughout the evening and earn raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes. The report says the raffle featured luxury items including Cartier watches and multiple designer handbags, while the top prize was reportedly a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle with the custom license plate “JUST&T MRD.”

TMZ added that “it’s unclear who walked away… with the coveted raffle prizes,” but described the celebration as one where “the newlyweds weren’t messing around when it came to wedding favors.” Therefore, the report does not claim that every guest received a Cartier watch, only that Cartier watches were among the raffle prizes available to some winners.
Another report by Cosmopolitan India published on 7 July, 2026, notes that the “biggest talking point” was the prizes, which included “Cartier watches and several luxury designer handbags,” among others. It adds that the raffle was designed to get guests mingling while adding “an unexpected twist” to the celebration. Nowhere in this report or in any other report reviewed, states that all the guests received Cartier watches. View a section of the report below:

Thus, the claim is false.
