Is Real Madrid pushing Vinícius Júnior to leave this summer by offering a share of his transfer fee? Fact Check

Claim: Real Madrid is pushing to part ways with Vinícius Júnior this summer and offering him a share of his transfer fee to help facilitate a move elsewhere.

Conclusion: The claim is false. Although reports suggest there is uncertainty surrounding Vinícius Júnior’s contract and that Real Madrid could explore a transfer if renewal talks fail, none of the reports suggest that Real Madrid is actively pushing him to leave this summer or offering him a share of a transfer fee to facilitate an exit.

Rating: False

FACT CHECK

DigitEYE India decided to investigate this claim and found it to be false. While reports indicate that negotiations over Vinícius Júnior’s contract remain unresolved none of the reports reviewed mention that Real Madrid is actively trying to move him on this summer. Similarly, there is no evidence in the reports to support the claim that Real Madrid have offered Vinícius a share of a transfer fee to encourage his departure.

Details:

We first checked the source cited in the claim and found a report published by Defensa Central. The report notes that Vinícius’ contract expires in 2027 and states that Florentino Pérez (President of football club Real Madrid) “doesn’t even want to consider the possibility of him leaving as a free agent.” According to sports commentator Ramón Álvarez de Mon, “for this reason” the club is “considering several formulas to facilitate a possible departure of the player this summer.” He claims that “Real Madrid would be willing to compensate him financially with part of the transfer fee” but this comment by Ramón Álvarez de Mon is not confirmed by official statements. The above report also states that “both the player and the club want to stay together” and that “once the World Cup is over, there will be further talks with the player to try and reach an agreement.”  At no point does the report state that Real Madrid is actively trying to force Vinícius Júnior to leave or pressure him into accepting a transfer. Furthermore, the report attributes these claims to sports commentator Ramón Álvarez de Mon and does not cite Real Madrid or Vinícius Júnior confirming any of this.

Another report published by Managing Madrid on July 4, 2026, citing MARCA, states that “Real Madrid’s board and Vinicius Júnior will discuss a contract extension after the current FIFA World Cup.” It notes that the Brazilian “wants a significant salary raise” adding that the club does not want to lose him “as a free agent.” The report further states that “if the two parts can’t reach an agreement after the World Cup, Real Madrid could eventually explore the market for him,” but it does not state that the club is actively pushing Vinícius Júnior to leave or forcing him out.

DigitEYE India also came across a report published by Yahoo Sports on 11 June, 2026, which cites Diario AS, regarding Vinícius Júnior’s contract situation. The report states that Vinícius “will not consider a move away this summer even if a renewal is not forthcoming,” leaving “a 12-month period for a resolution to be found between the parties.” Therefore, any claims about Vinicius Junior leaving this summer or a transfer fee are unsubstantial.

Thus, the claim is false.
