No, Centre is not offering Rs.3,000 allowance under Pradhan Mantri Berojgari Bhatta Yojana; Fact Check

A social media message claiming that the Government is providing an allowance of Rs 3,000 per month to unemployed youth under the Pradhan Mantri Berojgari Bhatta Yojana has surfaced again on WhatsApp messages though similar claims had been debunked several times in the past.

The message can be seen here and here.

FACT CHECK

This sort of claim is not new as in the past a similar claim was shared with the amount being Rs.6,000 per month. A search on Government of India official websites reveal that there is no such scheme announced by the Central government. The PIB fact-checking unit of the Centre had debunked such a claim in 2022:

The Indian government is not running any scheme with the name Pradhan Mantri Berojgari Bhatta Yojana, and all the website links given on social media platforms proved to be removed or deleted. The Indian Cybercrime Coordination Center has also given clarification that such messages are fraudulent and aimed at deceiving the public into sharing their sensitive information.

As of now, only the Chhattisgarh government is implementing the Berojgari Bhatta Yojana. Similar schemes are underway or in the pipeline in Congress-ruled Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka. Otherwise, the Central government is not offering any unemployment allowance under the scheme Pradhan Mantri Berojgari Bhatta Yojana.

Claim: Government is giving an allowance of Rs 3,000 per month to unemployed youth under the Pradhan Mantri Berojgari Bhatta Yojana.

Conclusion: Government of India is not running any scheme with the name Pradhan Mantri Berojgari Bhatta Yojana, providing unemployment allowance to the youth. PIB and the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Center have declared the news as false and warned the public about deceptive websites operating under this scheme’s name. Hence, the claim is FALSE.
