A viral video of a woman dancing to the song ‘Mere Ghar Ram Aaye Hain is being shared on social media with the claim that she is Ananya Das, the district collector of Sambalpur, Odisha. See the post on X (formerly Twitter) here:
FACT CHECK
As many false videos are being circulated on Youtube Shorts claiming that they belong to IAS or IPS officers, the Digiteye India team took it up for fact-checking. Taking a few key frames from the video, we checked them on Google Reverse Image Search and found that the video was uploaded by content creator Mradula Mahajan on her YouTube, Instagram, Facebook in January 2024. She has clearly stated that it was her video and that she herself was seen in the video.
Further search on X (formerly Twitter) showed that Ananya Das, the IANS officer of Odisha cadre, had clarified that she was not the dancer in the video shared on X post on January 27,2024.

Hence, a wrong claim has been made about the woman dancing in the video as that of an IAS officer.
Claim: Video claiming that of dancing IAS officer Ananya Das, the district collector of Sambalpur, Odisha.
Conclusion: False. A video of content creator Mradula Mahajan has been shared as that of an IAS officer from Odisha.
