FACT CHECK

DigitEYE India decided to investigate this claim and found it to be totally false. The visual is not from a real event and has been artificially created, with no connection to any appearance by Narendra Modi in Kerala. It was generated using Gemini as indicated by the watermark visible on the image.

We first conducted a web search with the phrase “PM Modi Kerala photoshoot” to learn more about the claim.

The search took us to an Instagram post by the Press Information Bureau’s Fact Check Unit, directly addressing this exact viral image. PIB notes that a “viral image is being shared online, claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a photoshoot during his Kerala visit. Following this, we searched about PM Modi’s actual visit to Kerala and if there were any traces of real events. According to a report by The Hindu last updated on April 4, 2026, PM Modi will “visit Kerala on April 4 (Saturday) as part of the NDA’s Assembly election campaign,” The report mentions that PM Modi will attend a “public meeting in Thiruvalla and take part in a roadshow in Thiruvananthapuram…” Other information such as addressing “a large gathering at the public stadium, with party leaders and NDA candidates from nearby constituencies” is also mentioned. Another report by Onmanorama also confirms these events, mentioning that PM Modi “is scheduled to hold a roadshow and address a public meeting in Thiruvananthapuram.” The report further states that “party workers from nearby Assembly constituencies… are expected to attend the public meeting at the Central Stadium,” with “around 30,000 people… likely to participate.” However, there is no information of any photoshoot which PM Modi has orchestrated. Lastly, we noticed the Gemini logo in the bottom right of the image, proving it has been generated using AI. We also downloaded the image in the claim and ran it through Hive Moderation’s AI detector to check the authenticity. The results proved that this photo is indeed 99.9% AI generated. View both the screenshots below –

Thus, the claim is totally false.
