When our team checked the video’s authenticity with frame cuts and searching on Google Reverse Image Search, the results showed reports about a protest by Sachin Chaudhary, a leader of the opposition Congress party, who staged it in November 2019 against the rising number of violent crimes against women.

Chaudhary, who contested for Lok Sabha seat from Amroha in Uttar Pradesh in 2019, undertook the protest with his daughter following the rape and murder of a veterinary doctor in Hyderabad in November 2019.  The incident  in Hyderabad had sparked nationwide protests, demanding swift trials and stricter punishments for rapists.

The video was documented and uploaded by Bolta Hindustan, an independent media outlet that captured Chaudhary’s protest in front of the Indian parliament.
