Video claims Joe Biden, Rishi Sunak, Justin Trudeau attended Ram Mandir event; Fact Check

A video on the consecration ceremony or Pran Pratishtha of the Ram Temple is going viral on social media with a claim that foreign dignitaries including US President Joe Biden, British PM Rishi Sunak, Canadian PM Justin Trudeau and other world leaders attended the event that was held on January 22, 2024. The claim said the video captures the chief guests attending the program.

It was shared on Facebook here and here with the caption stating, “Guests attending Ram Mandir Ayodhya on 22 January 2024.”

FACT CHECK

When we checked the Google Search for relevant information, but no news appeared that mentioned the above world leaders attending the ceremony. Further, taking some key frames from the video, we could make out that the video was an old one pertaining to videos captured when world leaders attended the G20 Summit held in India in September 2023.

The video footage from these clips have been used to present now with a claim that these leaders attended the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of Ram Mandir. Hence, the video and the claim are totally false. No world leaders shown in the video attended the Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony held on January 22, 2024.

Conclusion: The video of the heads of state reaching India to attend the G20 summit in September 2023 has been shared as that of Ram Mandir event in January 2024.
