As Indian movies are escalating the expenditure per film, the brouhaha surrounding Telugu actor Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 has reached a new level of publicity. Amid the hype, a social media post has been shared on X, suggesting that Elon Musk has changed the like button.

The claim reads: “It’s not fake Elon Musk has changed a like button to this❤️‍🔥 Click on it and see.”

Another user endorsed the view and shared it here saying, “Elon Musk really changed the like button—it’s true!”


The context was the Telugu film Pushpa 2 release with dubbed versions at the pan-India level on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2024. The first part of the movie was a big hit, and momentum is also being built for the sequel.

FACT-CHECK

when Digiteye India checked for such change in X policy on like buttons, it was found to be a fake claim as Elon Musk has not changed the like button for ‘Pushpa 2’ movie.

When one clicks on the button, it leads to liking the post automatically. Moreover, the video shared is an irrelevant post aimed at increasing user engagement by tricking them to liking it which is against x policy.

Elon Musk warned in April against such tricks.

Hence, the claim is false.
