FACT CHECK
DigitEYE India decided to investigate this claim and discovered that it is misleading. There is no declaration by the Indian central government for consecutive public holidays nationwide on these dates. The image appears to be a fabricated graphic circulating as misinformation.
We first checked the official Holiday Calendar on the National Portal of India to verify these claims. The Indian government’s official holiday list for 2025 does not include September 3, 4, or 6 as national holidays; only September 5 is listed for Milad-un-Nabi.
Kerala has declared holidays on 4th and 5th September for Onam and a report by the Mint states that the Maharashtra Government changed the holiday for Milad-un-Nabi from 5th September to 8th September.
The RBI had declared 5th September as a holiday initially but had cancelled it. A report published by the Economic Times captures this and writes that the RBI said “The Government of Maharashtra has declared September 08, 2025, as a public holiday under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. The public holiday on September 05, 2025, declared earlier has been cancelled.”
Thus, the claim is misleading. As of September 5, 2025, no such holidays declared nationwide and these claims shared on social media are not true.
