Claim: Air India has canceled all of its international flights until July due to fuel shortages.
Conclusion: The claim is false. Air India has not cancelled all of its international flights until July due to fuel shortages. While Air India CEO and MD Campbell Wilson confirmed targeted reductions on certain routes, there is no evidence showing that all international flights are being suspended.

FACT CHECK
DigitEYE India decided to investigate this claim and found it to be false. Air India has not announced a complete suspension of its international operations until July. Although the airline is making limited adjustments and reducing services on certain routes, there is no official confirmation or credible evidence suggesting that every international flight has been cancelled.
Details:
We first conducted a web search with the phrase “Air India cancels all international fights” to learn more about the issue. According to a NDTV report, Air India will cut international flights till July amid jet fuel price surge. The report mentions CEO and Managing Director Campbell Wilson’s statement, “We have reduced some flying for April and May…massive rise in jet fuel prices which, together with airspace closures and longer flying routes, have caused many of our international flights” to become unprofitable to operate. There is nothing mentioned about total cancellation, view a section from the report below –

Another Hindustan Times report also writes about how Air India will cut some of its international flights in May-July, not a total cancellation. The report notes that “Air India Group is estimated to have incurred over ₹22,000 crore losses in the financial year ended March 31, 2026.” Moreover, despite taking pricing measures such as increased airfares and imposed fuel surcharges”, have still not helped. Air India’s website and recent updates show no announcement of a complete international shutdown. Back in April 7, 2026, Air India released a statement pertaining to revisions to fuel surcharge but did not mention anything about cancelling all international flights.
DigitEYE India manually checked international flight availability and found that Air India was still allowing bookings. View the screenshot below showing a flight from Kolkata to Denmark, proving that not all international flights were cancelled between May and July.

Thus, the claim is false.
