FACT CHECK

DigitEYE India decided to investigate this claim and found that it is false. These images date back to 5 to 6 years old and depict the disposal of spoiled sweets during a government raid in Sirsa, Haryana. These images have no connection to the recent Bihar elections or the RJD office.

We first conducted a reverse image search to learn about the claim and landed on a Facebook post from 5 years ago. Part of an old image has been resurfacing after the recent Bihar elections from November 2025.

Following this, the reverse image search took us to a report published by Amar Ujala 5 years ago with an with Head line “मुख्यमंत्री उड्नदस्ते ने एक क्विंटल खराब मिठाई कराया नष्ट” (Chief Minister’s Flying Squad destroyed one quintal of spoiled sweets). This incident occurred on November 10, 2020, during a surprise inspection by the Chief Minister’s flying squad and also Food and Drug Administration (FDA) officials at Shri Radhe Rasgulla factory on Kanganpur Road.

According to the report “3 क्विंटल रसगुल्ला, 2 क्विंटल गुलाब जामुन व एक क्विंटल मावा मिला है” In English this reads “3 quintals of rasgullas, 2 quintals of gulab jamuns, and 1 quintal of mawa were recovered”.These will be sent to a laboratory for testing. Additionally, a quintal of spoiled sweets from the Rasgulla factory was destroyed.

Another report published by Dainik Bhaskar from the same timeline has also covered this confirming the CM Flying Squad Raid.

Next, we conducted a reverse image search on a second image and came across a report published by News 18 (Hindi) on August 16, 2019. The image was captioned : बासी और ख़राब मिठाइयों और मवा को नये माल में मिलाकर दोबारा नयी मिठाई बनायी जा रही थी. टीम ने इस दुकान से 250 किलो से ज्यादा के दूषित लड्डू, पेड़ा, रसगुल्ला और इमारती बरामद कीं. In English this reads: “Stale and spoiled sweets and khoya were being mixed with new stock to make fresh sweets again. The team seized more than 250 kilos of contaminated laddus, pedas, rasgullas, and imartis from this shop.” This Incident happened in Gwalior.

We cross checked and confirmed this with another report published by Dainik Bhaskar from 6 years ago. The same images in the claim are used with the correct context and title of the report is : ग्वालियर में सड़े लड्डू-पेड़े मिलाकर बनायी जा रही थी नयी मिठाई; ढाई क्विंटल खराब मिठाई जब्त, फिंकवाई. In English this reads: “In Gwalior, new sweets were being made by mixing rotten laddus and pedas; two and a half quintals of spoiled sweets were seized and thrown away.” See below:

Thus, the claim is false.
