Here is the complete statement from the video shared on the post : “I had sincerely looked forward to participating in this debate to speak openly about Pakistan-India relations. I was genuinely looking forward to sharing my views. It was an honour to be considered. But unexpectedly, I was pulled out at the last minute due to government pressure (Sic)”.
FACT CHECK
DigitEYE India decided to investigate this claim and found that it is false. The footage dates back to an unrelated event and the audio has been overlaid using AI. There is no report that confirms Sachin Pilot has made such comments about an Indian walkout at the Oxford Union debate.
We first conducted a web search with the phrases “Sachin Pilot Indian walkout due to government pressure” to learn about the claim. However, we did not come across any reports by credible media outlets. Moreover, when we checked official handles of Sachin Pilot, we did not find anything related to the incident.
Next, we conducted a reverse image search on various keyframes of the video to get the original clip. Our search took us to a video by India Today on their Youtube channel, posted on 5th October that was titled : “#SachinPilot Denied #JailVisit to #NSUI #RajasthanPresident Detained After #RSSProtest | #indiatoday”. In the original video one can see Sachin Pilot was speaking to the media that he was trying to meet NSUI Rajasthan President Vinod Jakhar, who was taken into custody and booked under various charges following a protest against an RSS program that ended in a lathi charge. Pilot said authorities stopped him from seeing Jakhar, yet he voiced trust in the courts and hoped that he would be granted permission to meet him in the near future.
Next, we extracted the audio from the video in the claim and tested it through Hive Moderation’s AI audio checker. The results proved that it is likely to contain AI-generated or deepfake content with 72% AI. View a screenshot of the results below –

Lastly, coming to the fact about the Oxford Union debate between India and Pakistan as claimed in the viral video, the debate did not happen. And Sachin Pilot was not part of it. It was totally a different event.
According to a report published by Times of India on November 27, 2025, the debate was cancelled due to Pakistani no-show, and not Indian walkout.
The report mentions how senior advocate J Sai Deepak “claimed, he got a personal call from Harraj that the Pakistan delegation, Zubair Mahmood Hayat, former chairman joint chiefs of staff committee, and Hina Rabbani Khar, former Pakistan foreign minister, were not coming.” Hence, the Indian team did not go to Oxford.
Sai criticized the event’s handling and accused the Oxford Union of enabling Pakistan to falsely claim victory after the Pakistan high commission tweeted that India withdrew. He insisted the Indian side was ready to debate and challenged the Pakistan delegation to face them if they were still in Oxford. View a section from the report below:

Thus, the audio in the claimed video has been altered using AI, referring to a totally different event.
Thus, the claim is misrepresentation.
