Recently several users have shared remarks allegedly quoting the Indian foreign affairs minister S Jaishankar. These remarks were made pertaining to the recent comments by U.S. President Donald Trump on India, calling it a “dead economy”.
Several users posted pictures of S Jaishankar and this comment : “Our economy will not be run from the White House…Russian oil will continue to flow to India”. They attributed this comment to him, portraying it as an official statement by the Ministry of External Affairs.

FACT CHECK
DigitEYE India decided to fact check this claim and discovered that no such thing was said by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar. The statement lacks a direct quote from a press conference or official statement.
We then checked for any kind of official notice by the Indian Ministry of External Affairs and found no such confirmation. On the other hand, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has debunked this claim and released an X post pertaining to this matter.
