FACT CHECK
DigitEYE India decided to investigate this claim and found it to be false. US President Donald Trump did not make such a post on Truth Social and the image is fabricated. He did express frustration over Australia’s lack of support when the Strait of Hormuz was blocked.
We first conducted a web search with the phrase “Donald Trump truth social post on Australian PM” to learn more. However, Trump’s official Truth Social account does not contain posts having “Anthony Albanese,” “Airbus,” “retarded Prime Minister,” or the quoted text. His recent posts as of 19th April 2026 are some article links praising his policies and a pinned post about how Iran violated the ceasefire in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to a Guardian report published on 8 April 2026, Anthony Albanese issued a rare rebuke of Donald Trump, calling his threats against Iran “an extraordinary statement to make” after Trump warned that “a whole civilization will die.” He added that such rhetoric was “not appropriate… from the president of the United States” and warned it would “cause some concern,” especially given references to targeting civilian infrastructure. While welcoming the ceasefire as “very positive,” Albanese stressed that any conflict must follow international law and protect civilians, reinforcing his push for de-escalation. Following this, we came across an ABC News report published on 17 April 2026 where Trump expressed dissatisfaction against Australia. Trump criticised Australia’s stance on the Strait of Hormuz, stating he was “not happy with Australia” because they were “not there when we asked them to be there.” He repeated the claim that Australia “didn’t help us,” expressing frustration over what he saw as a lack of support during the crisis. We did not find any credible evidence or proof confirming that Donald Trump said those words about Anthony Albanese as claimed.
Hence, the claim is false.
